Cool in Carbon | Kyle’s 800+HP S2000

One of the cars from Tuner-Evolution 2013 that stood out the most to me was Kyle Clark’s 2000 Honda S2000.  Located right behind our booth all day, I couldn’t help but find myself walking around the car, noticing the incredible amount of detail that this S2000 possessed.  I knew that this car was perfect for the page, so upon contacting Kyle, a shoot was set up with Mike Burns, StanceCoalition photographer.

After months of searching for the right car, Kyle picked this S2000 up off of the original owner with 24,000 original miles in Bensalem, PA.  He originally wanted to just throw on some wheels and a suspension, but after he parted out his race car, the build continued to more than just a few bolt on mods.  The goal for the car turned into breaking 900hp while still being a fully functional show car.

After the car hit 610hp on the dyno, the Honda F-series engine dropped a valve causing Kyle to tear the whole motor down during the Winter of 2012.

Kyle would like to eventually change the shade of gray and paint some of the carbon fiber panels to give it a more sleeper appearance, but who can’t miss the massive fender exit exhaust!

Many thanks mainly go out to Kyle’s girlfriend for putting up with the build, Kyle Koretsky for his welding expertise, RSTech for helping with technical questions along the way, friends that lent a useful hand when needed (Brian Deceasare, Dillon Sokolowski, Jim Stewart, Mark Vansqueek), Synapse Turbo in NY for their awesome customer service and Bonehead Performance (Chuck and Charlie) for pushing the parts out the door fast.
